Learning to Swim – Oxidized Sterling Silver Ring

A sculptural ring handcrafted from solid 925 sterling silver and set with a single crystal-clear white zircon.

The small zircon appears as a concentrated point of light within the dark, hand-formed structure. Irregular lines, textured surfaces, and open spaces create a sense of movement around the stone, giving the ring an organic, almost miniature-object quality.

The silver is intentionally oxidized to create its deep charcoal-black surface, emphasizing the contours, textures, and subtle irregularities of the sculptural form.

Every ring is individually formed, textured, stone-set, oxidized, and finished by hand in our Istanbul workshop.

The Story - Learning to Swim

Learning to swim begins with uncertainty.

Movement that initially feels unfamiliar gradually becomes instinctive - not by controlling every motion, but by learning how to move with what surrounds us.

The irregular structure of this ring developed through the making process rather than from a perfectly predetermined form. A small white zircon sits within the dark, shifting surface like a fixed point surrounded by movement.

Learning to Swim is about finding your way through something unfamiliar - gradually discovering balance, movement, and confidence without knowing exactly where each motion will take you.

Each ring is individually formed, textured, stone-set, oxidized, and finished by hand rather than mass-produced.

The irregularities and textures visible throughout the surface are intentional traces of the making process. Because each piece is shaped individually, subtle variations in form, texture, and oxidation may occur, making every ring slightly unique.

Ring Size

Your ring will be handcrafted according to the size you select.

We use US ring sizing. Please refer to the size chart included in the product images. For the most accurate fit, we recommend having your finger professionally measured by a local jeweler before ordering.

Care

Oxidized silver is intentionally darkened to create its distinctive charcoal-black surface.

With wear, areas exposed to frequent contact and friction may gradually become lighter, allowing the finish to develop a natural patina over time. This evolution is a characteristic of oxidized silver rather than a defect.

To help preserve the darker finish, avoid direct contact with perfume, alcohol, chlorine, detergents, and other chemicals. Do not use silver-polishing cloths or abrasive cleaners, as they may remove the oxidation. After exposure to moisture, gently dry the ring with a soft cloth and store it in its box when not being worn.
